Pixar Talk in Polygon Pictures

Last Thursday Pixar's Rick Sayre (Supervising Technical Director) came to our office and gave us an one-hour talk about their work flow and show some of their making-process of The Incredibles.

He's one of our Polygon president's friends. A big crowd of us attend the talk in the conference room in the evening despite of the fact that everyone is super busy rushing deadlines. I've heard about Pixar workflow last time back in Singapore, but this time has something extra to watch and to know of. Oh, and since Rick is english speaking, therefore the big crowd needs Japanese translation. And one of our translator was really doing a great job. I know it must be hard for him to translate everything clearly including animation technical terms, however I believe he was trying his very best to explain to everyone. I respect his professional quality. He's also a kind person. He's been helping us in translatiing during most of our storyboarding meeting. He's great.

After the talk, we had Q&A as usual. Mainly are those of us who are english-speaking took the chance of asking questions. haha... But the answers to our questions were also translated to japanese, so that everyone benefit from it.

The talk was short but I love the moment of knowledge-sharing and everyone was enjoying and appreciating the talk very much. Hopefully in future we could have some connection with Pixar officially. hahaaa... I must work on my reel and hopefully one day I could reach Pixar standard. 頑張ります!よし!
